BCMLA Cultural Conference Tour

Join the Black Caucus of the Maryland Library Association (BCMLA) as we explore Black heritage at the Water’s Edge Museum in Oxford, MD. The Water’s Edge highlights Eastern Shore history and culture.

The experience will take place between 1:15 pm and 3:45 pm. Please meet in the lobby of the Hyatt Regency by 1:15 pm if you intend to use the shuttle service. You may also drive to the museum if desired (approximately a 30 minute drive). The museum tour will be led by the Water’s Edge Museum team from 2 to 3 pm. Tour and transportation are provided free for 25 participants. Registration is limited due to museum capacity.

Haunted Walking Tour

Join fellow conference attendees for a guided stroll through Cambridge’s “most haunted” mile. Drawn from the Edward H. Nabb Research Center’s folklore collection, this one-hour walk brings to life the documented legends of soldiers, oystermen, governors, and everyday townspeople whose stories still echo through the city. Explore notable sites including Christ Church and its graveyard, the Dorchester County Courthouse, Long Wharf, and several historic homes. The tour begins at the Dorchester County Courthouse and follows a well-lit, one-mile route perfect for an evening adventure.
